By when will I receive my invoice?

If you have indicated that your firm will be paying, then we will send your firm one bulk invoice after the start of the course. We will liaise with your firm directly.

If you have indicated that you will be paying, then we will send you an invoice via email. This will be sent within 48 to 72 hours after receipt of your confirmation email.

 

By when must payment be made for the ITC Preparatory Course?

Full payment will be due by 12 December 2021. If you receive your invoice after this date, due to joining later, then payment is due upon receipt of your invoice.

Must I send my proof of payment?

Yes, it is very important to email your proof of payment as this ensures that your payment will be allocated to your account.

 

 

When will lectures commence?

Online lectures will commence from 13 December 2021

 

In which cities will lectures be held?

We will not have any physical / face-to-face lectures for this ITC preparatory course. All lectures will be done virtually.

 

Where do I find the lecture schedule / lesson plan?

This will be made available to you when you receive access to the online platform.

 

Are attending the virtual lectures compulsory?

Joining the lectures online are not compulsory; you can review recordings of the lectures online via our online learning website. It is encouraged that you join if you are able to.

 

What if I can’t join lectures?

Lectures in will always be outside of normal working hours and this will also be recorded should you wish to watch it at a later date.

 

 

Who will be lecturing?

All lecturers are full time Academics of the UCT College of Accounting. All who have been involved in, and teaching on the UCT PGDA course for a number of years. They have also been involved in setting questions for SAICA’s ITC exams.

What course material will I receive?

Course material consists of a suggested study day programme, course notes and a bank of tutorial questions.

 

When will I receive the course material?

Course material will be available from 13 December 2021

 

How do I access the online learning website?

You will automatically receive your login details to our online learning website via email from 13 December 2021. You should ensure that you register using a current email address. If any subsequent changes to your registration needs to be made you should contact us on
info@uctboardcourse.co.za to effect changes.

 

By when will I be able to access the online learning website?

Access will be granted from 13 December 2021, provided that your course fees are paid.

 

What will I be able to access on the online learning website?

The online learning website will contain the following:

  • Course notes
  • A bank of tutorial questions
  • Lecture recordings
  • Video resources
  • Academic updates issued by the course lecturers
  • Assessment questions
  • Discussion forum

 

Will I be able to contact lecturers?

Lecturers will be available on email and via a dedicated discussion forum on the online learning website.

 

Are the mock examinations (simulated ITC examinations) compulsory and how do I get a copy of the exam and solution?

These are for your benefit as preparation for the ITC. It is therefore in your best interest to attempt them. The mock examination (simulated ITC) will be loaded to the online learning website in January 2022. You will receive an email notification once the examination is available. You are expected to write the examinations on the specified days and self mark them against the solutions provided on the online learning website.

 

Are there venues for the mock exams?

No. These are self-study and self-evaluated examinations and you will thus write the examinations in your own time and mark them yourself. A feedback session video will be available on the online learning website in March/April 2021 on the mock examinations.

Can I cancel my registration?

Yes, you will be able to cancel your registration at any time before the course starts or before you have received the study material at no cost to you or your firm/bursar.

 

What must I do to cancel my registration?

You must advise us in writing (via email) that you no longer wish to continue with the course to info@uctboardcourse.co.za

 

Are there any costs involved if I cancel my registration?

In the case that you did not pass your honours, did not access the platform nor receive study material = 100% refund.

In the case that you did not pass honours, did not receive study material, but logged onto the online learning website = 100% refund.

In the case that you did not pass honours,  but received study material = 50% refund

Study material, logged onto the online learning website, passed honours but could not write ITC exam due to unforeseen circumstances = 50% refund (this will be considered on a case by case basis – please contact us in this regard)

 

What if I am unsuccessful in my PGDA/CTA/HDipAcc in 2020?

You must advise us in writing (via email) that you no longer wish to continue with the course.

The normal cancellation rules will apply.

What is the ITC exam date?

The exam will be written on 26 and 27 January 2022

 

How am I notified of the correct venue to write the exam?

SAICA will post you a letter with all the relevant details well in advance of the exam.
